Havana Club: ¡Súbelo, Cuba! is a campaign that showcases a network of like-minded, forward-thinking Cuban artists. A true celebration of Cuban culture, encompassing film, music and photography.
A true branded entertainment project, we partnered with Gilles Peterson to create an album to accompany the series. Combining traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms with influences ranging from hip-hop, to kuduro, UK funky and the Caribbean’s ubiquitous dembow beat. The album is streamed online and currently has thousands of monthly listeners.
The series speaks to the unique circumstances shaping music-making in Cuba and consists of 3 x 3 minute films and a 10 minute hero film. All were shot across one week in Havana utilising our in house Director and Production team.
To spread the campaign further we produced a fanzine showcasing snapshots of Havana’s unique club culture. The publication provided a deeper look into the seven musicians featured.
