The Thinking

The IBM Watson team has recently developed Cognitive Cooking, a computer system that enhances chef's abilities by taking scientific ingredient data and human palate to suggest the best and most novel combinations used by chefs to create unique and never-before imagined dishes. To unveil this new technology we put together the Cognitive Cooking Food Truck, an interactive experience where users could vote on which dish they wanted to have cooked by Institute of Culinary Education chefs. We also provided the real-time content for the two screens on the truck itself. Traveling to IBM's 2014 Pulse Conference in Las Vegas and SXSW in Austin, we pulled votes through Tweets to fry, slice and dice meals made the very next day. The results: delicious.
